I am a Designer, Educator, Mentor, Mother, Sister, Animal Lover…
I love designing as much as I love teaching about design so I have decided to make a career doing both.
Mentoring.I have worked with a variety of businesses and managed many young designers in handling projects from beginning concept through final design. My strengths are to make sure the project meets the client’s needs while pulling out the strengths of the individual designer. Understanding the client’s audience, user experience and the concept behind the design keeps the projected focused for strong results. My focus is to support the collaboration of designers, interactive developers, and photographers, keeping the design solutions on task while meeting the deadlines of the project without hindering the graphic solution.
Design Thinking. My success as an instructor involves evaluating individual growth with the intent of advancing a student's specific talents while focusing on the process involved in developing successful design. I focus on integrating the needs of people, the mission of the project and the possible deliverables to create thought-out solutions that focus on human centered design.
Teaching. I demonstrate that design can be exciting and individually unique while answering to the fundamental principles/rules of graphic design. I incorporate design history and current trends into the education of visual communicators. This gives the student better insight into the world of information design and they can better understand their own design skills. My success as an educator has come from focusing on the process involved in developing successful design, while evaluating individual growth with the intent of advancing a student's specific talents. I love teaching and seeing a student's growth.
